The inaugural open day two of Grand Strzelecki Track
ATV on Macks Creek Crossing 2 on the Macks Creek Loop of Grand Strzelecki Track.
Today. 24th of February 2022, was spend inspecting the Wild Cherry Track after two devastating storms. Once Parks Victoria repaired and cleared their section to the southern access gate, we were able to travel on the track and head beyond the gate only to find our section of the track blocked with fallen trees. We created a 200m track diversion and continued beyond Crossing 1 and 2 to Crossing 3, where we could not cross.

This video is from Dave Mann, a Latrobe Valley resident, a keen hiker to have completed our track in February 2020 from Tarra-Bulga NP to Morwell NP with the Mount Tassie Loop. This was his planned solo hike over two days covering 51kms. Thank you, Dave for your contribution.
Tarra Valley Loop
This video is from Finn Dunn of Fruitless Adventures, who with his partner, recently completed Tarra Valley Loop over two days. Not only did Finn capture some beautiful scenery, but they endured steep terrain, inclement weather and a few leeches along the way, which make up the splendour and conditions of the Track. Thank you, Finn for your contribution.
Mount Tassie Loop
This video is from Kevin Moss, alias YouTuber Goin’ Feral, in November 2025 where he heads off from the Tarra-Bulga National Park Visitor Centre in a clockwise direction over Mount Tassie and through Duff Sawmill Heritage Trail to return to the start. His narrative throughout the video describes the interesting types of land he encounters, that there will be a fair bit of climbing, and sections that are very “leechy”. along the way, he also encounters a snake and some waterfalls. Kevin is an avid hiker and was previously a blogger for his Australian and around the world adventures from 2014 to 2023 with almost 1,000 blogs. Today, he is concentrating more on YouTube content than his blog and has approximately 2,500 YouTube subscribers, 1,600 Facebook followers and 540 Instagram followers. Thank you, Kevin for your contribution.
Kevin had previously completed the Mount Tassie Loop in 2017 and contributed a detailed pictorial to our website “Track Chat” page. Read here https://grandstrzeleckitrack.org.au/story/kevins-story-mount-tassie-loop-2017/
Mount Tassie Loop – Day 1 of 2
This video is from Kevin Moss, alias YouTuber Goin’ Feral, in May 2026 where he heads off from the Tarra-Bulga National Park Visitor Centre in an anticlockwise direction to complete the Tarra Valley over two days. On day one, other than the inclement weather, he hits his first snag realising that Tarra Valley Road is closed for two days due to roadworks and is unable to make an initial food drop to his overnight accommodation at the caravan park further down the road. He hopes to intersect Tarra Valley Road past the roadworks later in the day, or when they have finished, to dodge getting caught out. He describes the day as being miserable with the inclement weather and being “leechy”. The start of this hikes uses sections of the same track as Mount Tassie Loop before heading off south towards Tarra Valley. His day ends in a cabin in front of a cosy wood fire. Mount Tassie Loop – Day 2 of 2
This video is from Kevin Moss, alias YouTuber Goin’ Feral, in May 2026 where he heads off from the Tarra-Bulga National Park Visitor Centre in an anticlockwise direction to complete the Tarra Valley over two days. On day two, he heads out early from his accommodation at the caravan park on Tarra Valley road up to Diaper Track hoping the roadworks closure hasn’t started. Although the weather is overcast, it is a bit more favourable than it was on day one at the Tarra-Bulga Visitor Centre. He encounters a few waterfalls and glimpses of distant views along Diaper Track before arriving back at the start of the loop.
