Track counts
Volunteers read six track counters every four months: on the Tarra Valley, Mount Tassie, Macks Creek and Park to Park walks. Here’s what they’ve counted.

23,764 walks counted in 2025.
Every one of those walks is on track that volunteers clear, mark and look after.
How we count: each counter records people passing a point on the track, so one walker can be counted at more than one counter. Totals are worked out the same way every time, so the years compare fairly. They are not the number of different people.
How to add a new count. This note only shows here in the editor. Visitors never see it.
- Click See the numbers as a table below to open it.
- Find this year’s row. Click the next empty box under the month you counted (April, August or December).
- Type the Totals (Multiplied by 2) figure from the counter sheet, for example 9,120. Commas are optional. Leave future boxes empty.
- Click Update (top right). The numbers here, on the homepage, About us, Donate and the other pages update by themselves.
- Out of rows? Click in the last row, then Edit table in the toolbar, then Insert row after, and type the new year.
If a box can’t be read (for example a letter typed by mistake), the page skips it and shows a red warning under the table when you view the page while logged in.
